Html metacharacters in sourcecode
-
Help page http://support.wordpress.com/code/ describes a ‘sourcecode’ tag that permits the inclusion of program source code in posts and comments. I have used this successfully in the past. Recently, this feature seems to have changed, and now html metacharacters such as less-than, greater-than and ampersand are converted to html before the sourcecode formatter gets hold of them, rendering them incorrectly. Is there any fix for this behavior?
Many thanks,
Phil

Thanks for confirming that there have been recent changes to the sourcecode feature.
I just sent a message to the support staff.

You’re welcome. From what one staff member said in another thread, they are preparing an announcement of some sort that will hit our dashboards in the wordpress.com news section.

@programmingpraxis, thanks for reporting this in support with an example URL. :) The sourcecode shortcode has been fixed.
