html not working

  Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? I have another web site, where I add lots of html widgets, etc.. from the edit dashboard by either: Manually typing <and> whatever the code might be between those < >,
  Or, by clicking on the < > on the dashboard which opens a small window which allows me to add the item by name etc..
  The option doesn’t lite up on my wordpress “View” console, and if I click onto the html console and type in a code ..for example &#169 for a copyright symbol.. that’s what shows up when I publish it .. just &#169,
  If I hit Code at the top of the console and type it in… it doesn’t show up at all. Neither does it show up if I type it in as <&#169> … I know, I don’t speak geek very well, so it looks like I’m writing a book to ask a simple question, which admittedly is probably still not relaying the information needed for you to help me. I apologize for that .. But please try and understand and help me if you can.

  Perhaps you should try adding a ; after the &#169, as in “©”

  No, that doesn’t help either, no change when using that code at all. In fact, I still only have to use &#169 to get the copyright symbol on my other site as well.
  Thanks for at least giving me another option to try.

  Whoops, strangely enough, you are right. After publishing and then “Visit Site”
  I tried reloading the page, abracadabra there it was by using the ©
  Although, all it takes on my other site is &#169 for some reason. Thanks Again.
