HTML on WordPress Not Working

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello all,

I have read countless articles about this but cannot seem to find the answer. I created an infographic and wanted to embed this via the HTML code that was generated. I’ve gone on to HTML and pasted it, hit preview and it simply comes up with the code. If I switch to Visual after a blank grey box where it seems the infographic should be, is there with a > like a play button.

I’m really not sure what to do?

    Any help much appreciated!!

    Hello there :)

The reason your embed isn’t working is because it’s a feature that’s not enabled with WordPress.com sites. Here’s a post that’ll explain more: https://en.support.wordpress.com/code/#html-tags

    Just to quote:

If you are familiar with HTML, you’ll notice that codes such as embed, frame, iframe, form, input, object, textarea and others are missing from the above list. Those codes are not allowed on WordPress.com for security reasons.

If you’d like to embed HTML code, WordPress.org sites allow you to do so. Hope that helps.

    Hello,

Thank you so much for your help.

That’s a shame, but at least now I know it wasn’t my doing, ha! :)
