HTML polls don’t work?
-
Hello,
I wanted to add a poll to my blog. I read here in the forums that polls would be ok to add as long as the code is HTML.
I recently tried to add a poll with HTML code, using a text widget but the code is stripped away. Is there a certain way I should add the poll?

Here is the poll code.
<!–Begin Poll Code –>
<form name=”form” method=”post” action=”http://www.free-web-polls.com/cgi-bin/poll.pl”><input type=”hidden” name=”action” value=”vote”><input type=”hidden” name=”subp” value=”0″><input type=”hidden” name=”pollid” value=”24835″>What is the coolest movie battle?
<br>
<input type=”radio” name=”which” value=”1″>Battle of Helm’s Deep<br><input type=”radio” name=”which” value=”2″>Battle of Yavin<br><input type=”radio” name=”which” value=”3″>Battle of Hoth<br><input type=”radio” name=”which” value=”4″>Battle of the Pelennor Fields<br><input type=”radio” name=”which” value=”5″>Battle of Area 51<br><input type=”radio” name=”which” value=”6″>First Invasion of Klandathu<br><input type=”radio” name=”which” value=”7″>Battle of Beruna Ford (The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe)<br><input type=”radio” name=”which” value=”8″>Siege of Minas Tirith<br><input type=”radio” name=”which” value=”9″>Siege of Barad-Dur<br><input type=”radio” name=”which” value=”10″>Battle of Sector 001 (Star Trek: First Contact)<br><input type=”submit” name=”Vote” value=”Vote”></form>

I have a similar problem with inputing HTML into the sidebar. :(
At first I tried Flickr’s flash badge, which just didn’t show up at all.
Then I found a great blogpet I want on my website, but my HTML is always stripped away. Is this an all right one to add, or does the javascript make it impossible? (I hope this shows up, if not, it’s from the website meropar.jp and it does indeed use < script language > tags…:::::<img src=”http://meropar.jp/img/logo_blog_1.gif” border=”0″ style=”border: none;” onmouseover=”this.src=’http://meropar.jp/img/logo_blog_2.gif'” onmouseout=”this.src=’http://meropar.jp/img/logo_blog_1.gif'” alt=”メロメロパーク” /><script language=”JavaScript” type=”text/javascript” src=”http://js.meropar.jp/meromero.js?key=9b64bf1488c5a5a6590d9efb90aebc80″ ></script>

Javascript is definitely a no-no, because the admins feel that it has security issues. As for the HTML, I thought it would be allowed, but I guess it’s not either.

I had similar problems trying to enter this in the html of a post. Can I get this up on the sidebar somehow?

Forms, the stuff inside the <form> tag, is striped due to security reasons. That’s not purely HTML.

Oh, thank you for that information.
I guess I have to look into just using another service entirely because this has just become frustrating. -

I have used http://polls.blogflux.com/ while it doesn’t show the whole poll and takes you to a seperate site, it doesn’t clutter things up.
