HTML showing in sidebar instead of widget

    I am attempting to cut and paste the html code for CafeMom into a text widget. When I copy their code into the text box, and save changes, the site shows the actual html code on the sidebar, along with the image that the html code is supposed to create. No matter what codes I put in there (from other sites that offer html to advertise on your blog) I get the same result. What am I doing wrong. Here is the html code I am using?

    Can you first post the link to your blog.

    I just tested the code myself and it must be some sort of javascript code because javascript code isn’t allowed on WordPress.com due to security issues.
