HTML tags being removed

  Hi,

  The problem iam facing right now is a strange one. The start of all html tags are being removed. For eg:
  If i upload an image to a post or page and view the frontend the image tag is displayed like this: img src=………>

  So the start ie ‘<‘ is being stripped off.

  This happens with simple tags too like becomes strong> and gets displayed in the frontend.

  Whats strange here is that the image gets displayed anyway along with the html tag, bit I cant upload or embed videos.

  When I embed an youtube video , the html embed tag gets stripped and the html is displayed in the frontend.

  I have tried disabling the visual editor when embedding but of no help.

  I would really appreciate if somebody could help me here.
