Html template site to php WordPress template site

  I am wanting to redesign our business site in WordPress after using another template site for years without losing our great rankings and organic search traffic. Our current template site uses an html platform and I gather WordPress is a php platform so by all accounts it will be difficult to migrate the old site to the new WordPress site as all the urls will be different. How do I seamlessly make this transition?

  Hi there. Do you want a self-hosted WordPress site, or a free WordPress.com site? WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and different: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ For help with migrating to a self-hosted WordPress.org site, please post in their forums: http://wordpress.org/support/

  The only way to import content to WordPress.com is via an XML import file. If your current setup can’t generate such a file, you’ll first need to export it to somewhere that uses a different import format, like an RSS feed, and then export an XML file from there:

  You won’t be able to use any existing themes on WordPress.com as we can only use the themes listed in the WordPress.com theme directory.

  You also don’t have any access to the source code on WordPress.com. You do on WordPress.org.
