HTML visible but Visual not on ‘Write Post’

Is WordPress working on the site at the moment? I have been trying to access a part written post for some hours. On the Write Post page the HTML is visible, even though the Visual Tab is coloured – when I click Visual the HTML disappears as does the box leaving nowhere to type into. Can anyone advise me please – is there an announcement somewhere I have missed. I know you are talking about uploading 2.7 at some point. Is my problem connected?! Thank you.

Can you please give us a link to your WordPress.com blog? Also, what are you puttiing in the editor…please paste it here between backticks, those little marks on the same key as the ~, so we can read the code. You could be putting in code that’s not allowed. We need to see it.

I am not really sure what you are asking me to do – the symbol on the same key I have ~ is # . What exactly do you mean by the editor? Is it the page of text I have written? (There is rather a lot of information.)I am returning to a post started previously which I have edited before. There is already a large amount of saved info there, including pictures. I have had no problem returning to and amending it in the past. I just know that when I click on Manage>’the post I want to open> I get HTML on the text page and/or text and no HTML on the HTML page. The HTML is no different to that used for the type of information already posted and I do not think it possible I have used code that is not allowed (I dont write my own HTML). At the last update of the page on Friday and again today I clicked Preview and there was no problem with seeing my work. I can click Preview today and everything is still OK, I just cant amend the post.
I have a second blog at http://hopeeternal.wordpress.com. I tried clicking a half written post there and get a similar problem – I can get HTML code on the HTML page but the text page is blank.
The only thought I have is that I have done a diagnostic this morning, fragmenting, emptying the history and turning on the phishing filter – but surely this shouldnt affect my ability to access my blog(s)?

I have just checked another computer and can access everything perfectly there. I am a bit puzzled. I will close this down and re-boot to see if this makes a difference, but I have no idea how to troubleshoot the problem if rebooting doesnt solve my problem. I’ll also try it without the phishing filter, just in case, though can’t see why this would make a difference.
Will let you know how I get on.

And the reboot seems to have worked. I can now see everything. Must remember that another time! Thanks for the help!

It’s probably a problem with IE, especially for IE6 or the IE8 beta. Use Firefox instead.
