htmo code doesn’t work

  • I see the screenshots you added to your media library. Thank you so much for those.

I’ve tested a few things based on what I see in the screenshot and I have one idea we can try.

In Chrome there is a shortcut which allows you to Zoom-in. This makes the words larger on the screen and much easier to read. This can also do strange things to web pages.

The screenshot you shared looks like you are currently zoomed in too far. The font size is very large and things are impossible to interact with. Let’s try zooming out.

    While viewing in Chrome:

    1. If you are on a Mac: hold “command” key and press the “-” key to zoom out

    2. If you are on a PC: hold “Ctrl” key and press the “-” key to zoom out.

These instructions are also written here if mine are not clear.

My hope is that once zoomed out, you will see an “All posts” view that looks familiar to you, and functions how you expect. We cannot thank you enough for your patience and persistence.

Thanks for your reply, that is apparently the answer although I ‘never’ zoomed in, rather it displayed that way automatically, perhaps owing to my screen resolution. I’m no nerd so thanks for your patience, hopefully I’ll be able to do minor editing on various posts now. However, I will say the ‘block’ feature just doesn’t click with me at all!
    regards,

Boy do I ever HATE the wordperfect editor! What happened to simple wordpad type editing!! Everything I attempt to do fails; centering headings, controlling space between lines, on and on, its just a complete waste of my time to try to figure out all the complex options, what a shame!!

  • Hi there,

You are referring to a layout you have created with the block editor? it is possible to center headings an control spacing so it sounds like this is something we could take a look at and show you how it’s done.

What is the title of the page or post you are working on so we can take a closer look?

    Thanks for the additional info!

Thanks but I’m not willing to waste anymore time trying to learn an editing system I have little or no use for, and no, I did not knowingly create any stupid ‘block’ posts.

Once again tonight I attempt to simply add a poem, but am completely frustrated by this incredibly stupid ‘block’ that prevents me from doing so!!! How sad that wordpress has added this impediment to normal everyday editing, wow is this ever a downer for me~~~

I feel like i have persevered with the so-called ‘blocks’ in writing simple posts, however they never quite appear as I upload them either. I usually try to edit my .wpd files and then upload them to wordpress. But there is always some problem, why? Also any pictures included in that upload does not appear at all, again, why?

Any external software can add its own formatting to the text, which will not be transferred when copy-pasting. Our editor works best when you create your content directly in it.

We strongly encourage you to use WordPress.com post editor to create content and formatting on the fly. If you desire to do offline blog post creation, you might try software such as the WordPress mobile apps.

Thanks dude. I think I’m doing wordpress a pass by editing off-site though.
