HTTP 500 error preventing admin access after trying to add code to function.php
-
I’m very new to WordPress and attempted to add a code for the first time on the function.php file of my theme. As soon as I did this, the HTTP 500 error appeared and since then I have not been able to access any admin control or dashboard at all. I also can’t login to FTP (FileZilla) so I can’t see any way of accessing my files in order to solve the problem… not that I know what I could possibly do to solve the problem! Any help/suggestions would be much appreciated :)

UPDATE: I tried using phpmyadmin to change the theme, thinking that it is the file from my current theme that is corrupted. I changed the template, stylesheet and current_theme rows to ‘Twenty Sixteen’/’twentysixteen’.
I’m still get the error.

This site is hosted here st WordPress.com. We have no access to FTP or to our function.php file or to phpmyadmin.
Your best bet is to seek help from Bluehost or your theme designer or the forums over at WordPress.org. (https://wordpress.org/support/)

Oops typos galore, first statement should be “This site is NOT hosted here at WordPress.com….
