HTTP ERROR 500 This page isn’t working – Please help!

Hi, I’d like to get help urgently. I’ve updated WordPress-recommended plugins just as I had logged into the dashboard this morning, and after reading that all ‘plugins have successfully been updated’, I couldn’t even access the dashboard or the website at all and received this 500 Error. How can I go about this? I’ve been trying to regain access through an FTP client but all I get is a message saying Critical Error: Could not connect to server.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hello there, it seems that your site is not hosted on WordPress.com but a self-hosted site using the open source WordPress software. Sites hosted on WordPress.com will not see an HTTP 500 error.

Maybe you could contact your web hosting provider on the issue or post your questions at the WordPress.org forum and seek help from the experts and volunteer members there. You may need to register an account if you don’t already have one.

And here’s an article regarding HTTP 500 error: https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-fix-the-internal-server-error-in-wordpress/

Please be informed that the staff and members of this forum could only help you out with support topics related to WordPress.com sites but not self-hosted WordPress sites as they’re separate entities and independent from each other.

Hope your issue gets fixed soon!
