HTTP Error

Hello, since yesterday (18/1/19) I have been unable to upload photos to put onto my WordPress.com blog. Each time I try, after starting to upload the photo, the blue bar freezes and then HTTP Error appears. I have not had a problem uploading before. I have tried clearing my browser history etc. Using another browser enables me to upload but only very very slowly, far from the speed it normally takes. Please may I check whether there is a way of resolving this. Thank you very much in advance for your help.

This looks like an issue with your browser. Please try the following:
* Clear your browser’s cache and cookies:
* Check that JavaScript is enabled and supported by your browser:
* Disable any ad-blocking and security extensions on your browser
* Check that you’re using the latest version of your browser:
* Try another browser:

Thank you for your reply, I really appreciate it.
I have worked my way down your list of things to try and done all of them as instructed, clearing my browsers cache and cookies and the check confirms that the rest are as they should be. However, I am still unable to upload any photos using Google Chrome without an http error. I can upload them using Microsoft Edge but only very very slowly, much more slowly than before.
The problem initially occured partway through uploading some photos. The first ones had uploaded without any problem then suddenly the http error came up and since then I have been unable to to upload via Chrome.
Most of the photos I upload are small files, some a little bigger.
It is making using my blog quite difficult as uploading has become a very slow operation and I must admit I am nervous of Edge suddenly stopping working as well.
This is only a very recent problem. Up until now I have not had any problems.
I have it left it a little while in case the problem suddenly went as suddenly as it started but the situation is still the same.
If you do have any other suggestions that I could try or perhaps could look into why it suddenly occured mid up load in the first place, I would be very grateful.

Hi @christedder, I’ve also seen this error if there’s an issue with the internet connection (if it’s dropping packets, etc. for example.) Some browser handle packet loss better than others, but either way you’d still have very slow upload speeds.
Could you either test a different internet connection to see if that helps, or contact your ISP to see if there are any known issues? They may also have a connectivity test you could run to check things out. Noting too, if the issue is only with upload and not download, you likely wouldn’t see issues on other sites.
Let us know what you find.
