HTTP Error Image Upload

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi, I’m trying to upload images to my WordPress Gallery but every time I try to upload it, it comes up with HTTP error. I uploaded an image maybe a week ago and it was fine. What has changed in this time, and what can I do to begin uploading images again?

I’m having the same problem. I’ve not uploaded any images for a month but today not luck. Exactly the same error – “HTTP error”.

  • Hi There,

I just tried uploading an image to my media gallery and it was successful.
You can try some of the following options:

    1. Make sure the it’s not a temporary glitch. To do so, you can wait for sometime and try uploading it again.

    2. Maybe try and upload some other image. If it is successful you might want to save your original image to a smaller size and upload it again.

    3. You may want to try saving the file to a different format. For example, change jpeg to png using an image editing software. After that, retry uploading the file.

    4. It might not be a website issue and just a browser issue. Try switching browser and upload the image again.

    5. Try to clear the cache from your browser and try again.

If the issue still persists, please go through the link for more details:

    HTTP Error while uploading image.

Please let know if it works or not so that we can assist you further.

    Thanks,
    Vinny

    Hi All,
I had the same problem – see above – and contacted Digital Pacific support. They had it fixed in 20 minutes. I’m not sure what a PHP is but it looks like I needed a 7. Their reply is below.

“I’ve gone ahead and updated your PHP version to 7.0 and have tested a upload of a file into your media library successfully. ”
