HTTP error. What is that? I want to upload my images!

  • Unknown's avatar

After I’ve backed up my blog to another new blog by exporting files twice, when I upload any sort of images, it shows HTTP error. However, I also set that new blog into private viewings. What is that, I don’t understand what it means. Besides, I want to upload images, I don’t wanna get stuck in this moment trying to post something up on my current blog. What can I do to get rid of this message? Thanks.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Are you uploading to the new blog? If so, what is the URL of the new blog? What browser and version are you using?

Well, it’s like that. I think I duplicated import the materials to my new blog, though I had deleted all 500+ posts all together and completely have no idea what to do now. I thought about importing it again when everything is emptied. I haven’t cleared out the comments yet. But currently I can’t upload images on my working site, and it says HTTP error, every time. I would like to solve this problem and would like to know what is the problem really and how to get rid of this message.

    New blog: https://artificialgal.wordpress.com/

I use Firefox but I do not know how to check my internet browser version..

One more thing, I’ve imported wrongly as I duplicated the uploads. Right now, my new site isn’t looking good, I do not know how to empty the stuff and re-upload the complete version of it. When I re-upload, what can I do to make the uploading process successful the next time in transfering the ‘whole’ blog, not just part of it, or it gets stuck in the middle?

But if I keep updating the back up information and wanted to replace the old stuff on the new blog, what can I do. The reason I duplicated the uploads is because I want to update a more recent version of my blog, is that not possible, or is there another way without messing these stuff up? Thanks, I’m in need of help.

The first thing to try is always to log out of wordpress, clear your browser cache and cookies, restart your browser and then try again. The thing is, this sort of thing doesn’t happen here hardly at all. It does happen with self-hosted blogs and is typically caused by configuration settings or permissions.

If the browser cache and cookie clearing doesn’t work, contact staff directly at http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ and explain things to them. Since volunteers don’t have access to the back end of your blog, we can’t really help much.

I have already cleared all cookies and cache yesterday, and for today I still cannot upload any images. I will try contact the support staff directly as well thanks.
