HTTP error when uploading photos

When I try to upload images I get a ‘HTTP error’ and then I loose the upload.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m using Mozilla Firefox 38.0.1 and already tried to clean the cache. I was capable of uploading a 1.23MB photo from this browser, but I can’t upload another one photo of 2.03MB.
In Chrome I was capable of uploading a 3.77MB photo, and the 2.03MB that I can’t on Firefox.

Do you have the problem when you upload straight to the media library, or just when you try to add an image to a post in the editor?

Does the problem happen all the time? Is there a cut off between the size of image that works, and one that doesn’t? Do you always upload images from the same wifi network or have you tried from different places?
Intermittent errors like this are notoriously difficult to track down, so the more information you can provide about when it happens and when it doesn’t, the better.

From what I tested and said before, it appears that the size does not affect, appears to be a generalized error. But I gave up uploading images on Firefox, so I have not tested several images. I don’t use wi-fi.

I did some additional testing on this in Firefox, and while I got the error on one attempted upload, I was able to get the same 5mb photo to upload on the second attempt. Since the problem isn’t consistent, and it sounds like you found a work around, there’s not a lot more I can do at the moment. I will keep my eyes open for additional examples of this problem in the hopes that they provide additional clues.

Hum… I’m on another PC now, the same version of Firefox (38.0.5). I could upload 8 images from the Windows 7’s “Example images” folder (all less than 1 MB).

Thanks for the extra info. That makes it even more likely that the problem has something to do with your specific set up and not something in your WordPress.com account.

When I go back to my home I will refresh the browser, and if it doesn’t solve the problem I will uninstall and install again.

I refreshed the browser, and could upload 6 of 8 example images. The 2 first stopped respectively at 78% and 31%, is this normal? When I tried again they were uploaded without errors.

I’m also experiencing similar issues and have been for several days. I’ve tried changing file format and refreshing the page, coming back several hours later to try again, changing the size of the file, and none of these methods have worked. Up until some time last week I had never encountered this problem.
