http error when uploading photos/videos

  Hello,

  When I try uploading photos or videos on my WordPress.com “Reizenvoorbijdeverbeelding.com” I got the message “http error”. Any idea what this means?

  Hi!

  Normally, this means that the file size is a bit big, and the upload is failing. Can you try uploading a file that’s a bit smaller and see if you still experience the issue?

  Hi,

  Many thanks for the quick response. It has nothing to do with the file size. I tried to upload pictures that I previously uploaded. It doesn’t work either…

  Hi Jan,

  I just tested this, and I was able to upload an image to your media library (since deleted). Can you let me know the size of the image you’re trying to upload? Also, can you try another browser like Google Chrome or Firefox?

  Hi,

  It’s complicated. This morning I uploaded a picture (5 MB
  5472 × 3648) successfully. To verify that the problem was resolved, I tried to upload the same picture again an hour later and… the “http error” message popped up again. So it’s not a problem with the size of the image, isn’t it?

  I changed from Explorer to Firefox meanwhile also.

  Thanks for relaying the results of the different tests. This is a hard one to nail down. Can you try the browser uploader here?

  I’m wondering if the issue is just with the multi-file uploader. I haven’t been able to reproduce this on my side, but I’ll keep trying. Just to confirm, you had the issue both with Firefox and IE?

  Yes I had the issue both with Firefox and IE. It works to upload the pictures with the browser uploader you mentioned in your e-mail. But it still works very slow. Something else: I tried to upload pictures with another computer, an apple, and this worked very well and quick…

  Can you let me know what version of Firefox you’re running? You can find out by visiting whatismybrowser.com in Firefox. Also, was the Mac you tried on the same network out of curiosity?
