http error word doc upload to media

Trying to upload documents to media library, get an error every time I attempt to add a word document

Hi, is there any specific error message you see when this happens? What WordPress.COM site are you uploading to? Can you upload other file types from the same source folder to your media library without issue? Have you checked your storage quota is not used up? Have you tried uploading from a different web browser or computer/device?

Your account doesn’t own any sites on WordPress.com. On what site are you getting this error?
If you have a site using the self-hosted WordPress.org software, please post in their forums instead, but first try clearing your browser cache and cookies. That usually fixes this particular error.

I bought wordpress through go daddy for my sight. I cleared cache and cookies, still doesn’t upload word docx files and have tried multiple browsers. Will contact godaddy customer service. Thank you

If your site is with GoDaddy you’re using the self-hosted software. The WordPress.org forums I linked to above will likely be of more help than GoDaddy support, as most hosts only provide support for your hosting account, not the WordPress software itself.
