HTTP meta tags
-
I’ve recently seen some fairly dramatic improvements in search engine ranking of some product pages I work on when updating the HTTP meta tags, title tag, first heading and so on.
I’d like to do something similar for my blog, but cannot find how to add or edit HTTP meta tags. How can I do this?
Thanks,
Conor. -
First, we need a link to your wordpress.COM blog. The link in your user name is not a wordpress.COM blog.

You do not have access to the core HTML files of your WordPress.com blog, so you are unable to add such meta tags.

Hi vivianpage, My blog is at purexml.wordpress.com. I purchased a domain name so it will re-direct to nativexmldatabase.com.
Hi bubel, Does WordPress plan to allow us to add META tags? If you are worried about security issues, you could easily design an interface in the Dashboard that accepted the value information for common META tags (description, keywords, etc).

If you’re using tags and categories, title text, filenames, and alt text wisely, you’ll find you can more than compensate for the lack of meta tags. Read this:

I doubt if they would ever allow anything like that. We are on a shared platform and changes to the html files would affect everyone using the same theme.
(BTW – you really should consider linking your usernae to your blog here. Having your username linked to IBM doesn’t help us help you.)
