Can I convert my blog on WordPress.com from http to https
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Sorry – currently WordPress.COM does not support https addressing for custom domains / domain mapping. The staff have said they are “working on the issue” – but that was many many moons ago and no update that I have seen

Thanks very much for this response.
I’ve noticed that some blogs on WordPress.com do appear to have https URLs. For example: https://anoddgeography.wordpress.com/
Any idea why this is?

WordPress.COM DOES support the use of https for sites that are a sub-domain of WordPress.COM (i.e. https://your-site.wordpress.com) but they do not support https for your-site.com
It is a sore point with many of us with custom domain names that are domain mapped here since Google and other search engines are starting to downgrade search results for non https URL’s

Hi there,
For now, as auxclass mentioned, WordPress.com can only serve sites over https if they are hosted on a *.wordpress.com subdomain. Sites using custom domain names have to be served over http.
We do hope to support https for custom domain names, and our team is working on it, but we don’t have a timeline yet for when we’ll be able to roll that out.
