HTTPS question
-
I receive unasked for info in my Status Bar. When I click in Dashboard for a managing page, it shows a loading strip, my url and a yellow lock icon.
The mouse hoverer discloses ‘Authenticised by goDaddy Inc’. Google then tells me this is a Mozilla Firefox filter. But after clicking the lock icon, I am told that this has to do with security coding of pages. Could this be the WordPress HTTPS security tool that I found on my new blog, and which was automatically checked? It’s not bothering me, I just want to make sure it’s a legal thingy. ‘goDaddy’ is a somewhat lurid name…

Until you pointed it out, I hadn’t noticed that yellow lock. Yes, it appears to be the HTTPS security. And they must be using GoDaddy for this. Google GoDaddy – you’ll find out that they are a legit company.

Google referred to it as a Firefox filter, a bit confusing, that.
But thanks vivianpage, I’ll let it do its work. -
…A silly question perhaps, but shouldn’t the urls of the blogs show ‘https’ instead of ‘http’? Firefox forum showed me one with ‘https’.

Um, yeah – I said that. I just hadn’t noticed it before he mentioned it.
double – the url of the blog is not what is secured. The admin area is secured. That’s why the https shows up there.

I’ll never understand computers.
