Hubspot blog migration

    Hi there,

I have a blog hosted on hubsport (blog.apptopia.com) but our website (apptopia.com) is hosted on another CMS (Alchemy). We want to migrate our blog from Hubspot to WordPress and have the address be apptopia.com/blog.

Is there a guide or clear steps to do this? We have around 350 blog posts.

I probably have a bunch more questions but this is a good start.

  • Hi Adam,

First off, you won’t be able to use the address, apptopia.com/blog if you move to WordPress.com, as we don’t support mapping of domains to subdirectories. With us you’ll only be able to use a subdomain, i.e. blog.apptopia.com, and that will also require that you upgrade to one of our paid plans:

    https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-subdomain/

If using a subdirectory is important for your site, then you’ll need to look at another WordPress host like Bluehost or Pressable instead:

Another problem is that there’s no easy way to migrate content away from Hubspot, as they don’t offer an XML export option – from what I can find they only offer HTML and CSV export formats.

Importing a CSV file to WordPress requires the use of an import plugin, and plugins can only be used on the Business Plan or higher on WordPress.com. You can find details on our Business Plan here:

And here’s a tutorial explaining how to migrate content from a Hubspot site:

Let me know if you have any questions.

Oh. Paying is no issue. Getting out from a subdomain is my biggest issue. There is no way to build wordpress blog into a subfolder?

Not on WordPress.com, I’m afraid. As @kokkieh mentioned above, if using a subdirectory is essential to your site, you will want to check out other hosts instead.
