Huge gaps aftersome of my posts

    Dear fellow bloggers……I haven’t been blogging long and one of the things I keep coming across are the huge gaps after some of my post. I’ve just added a couple of posts today and they both have a huge gap before the next post begins. Could some kind lady or gent please point me to what I might be doing wrong?

    Your list of tags and categories is much longer than your post on 5/26. Because the tags and cats are in the sidebar, they extend beyond the end of the post.
    Your post on 5/17 has the list of tags and cats about the same length as the post, so there is no “huge gap” after it.

    A reason to use tags (or categories) is so that your blog will be included in the WordPress.com “global tags pages” which help people discover your blog. If you aren’t careful about choosing your tags, you may be excluded from them:

    1. You are using too many categories or tags. You don’t want irrelevant content showing up in the tag surfer or search, and neither do we. That’s why we limit the number of tags that can be used on a public tag listing. Five to 10 tags (or categories, or a combination of the two) is a good number to add to each of your posts. The more tags you use, the less likely it is that your post will be selected for inclusion in the global tag listings.

    Suggestion: use fewer tags and categories. Or switch to a theme which displays them horizontally before or after your posts (still, it’s best to limit the number of cats and tags you use).

    AH! :-)… Cheers ‘1tess’……its stupid that I’ve missed it now you’ve pointed it out! :-(

    I’ll go through my posts and change the total number of Tags and Categories.

    Hi Simon,
    You are welcome—it was not necessarily obvious. Took me a minute to remember the left sidebar on that theme is not a widget sidebar.
