My name is Terry Canipe. My wife and I are new residents to Inman, SC. We moved here on 12/26/18, to be near children and grand children.
I am a 63 year old, Ironman Triathlete. I am competing in the World Championships in Kona, Hawaii next year, to raise funds for an organization called Smile Train. Smile Train performs surgeries for children with cleft pallets, whose parents cannot afford the procedure. I was wondering if you would help me raise funds by featuring a story about what I an doing for this organization.
I am no stranger to physical adversities. At age 45 I went into cardiac arrest due to severe atrial fibrillation. After having a surgery to correct the malady I began breaking numerous bones, 17 over a ten year period. Someone suggested I start working out in the gym. That I did and at age 55 completed my first Ironman. I have since completed 3 and will be competing this year in Ironman Florida and again in the World Championships in Ironman Hawaii in 2020.

I would also like to maybe organize a 5k Run in Inman to help raise funds for Smile Train. 100% of the entry fees would go to Smile Train.
