hundreds daily hits from same IP

    I don’t know what is going on, but I don’t like it much. I don’t know what could be causing it. Here’s what I wrote to the other owners of our blog: feministphilosophers.wordpress.com.

    You may have noticed that we have three posts that systematically get hundreds of hits each day, day after day. They are great posts, but this is so unusual that I wondered about it, and so went to look at it on the site “blog stats”. What I found is that almost all the hits for the three come from one and only one source. Here’s what the data on the source is:

    Below you will see one page of entries. Notice that the IP address is the same on all of them. From that I can tell, it comes from somewhere near Livingston New Jersey. Incidently or not, that’s near Rutgers.

    What do you think!?! Besides the obvious fact that an android phone near Livingston NJ is being used to access three posts on our site. And it looks like an automatic repeat redial.

    Hello there,
    This is a peer support forum and we Volunteers ie. your fello bloggers cannot help with referrer spam issues. Please read the sticky post at the head of this forum. Then when Staff reactivate the support link on on Monday, October 17th send your details to them. Here’s the link http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ After you use the searchbox, under the search results, at the bottom of the page there will be a section that says “Have you found the answer to your question?” You can choose either “Yes I found the answer to my question.” or “No I didn’t find the answer to my question and I would like to contact support for help.” The no option will reveal the contact form.
