Hundreds of fonts loaded via wp-fonts-local action on front-end and dashboard
-
Maybe a bug, I really don’t know. After updating to 6.4, WordPress started loading hundreds (+600) fonts on front and back-end via
wp-fonts-localaction. They load all those fonts on header, using @font-face styling tags.I managed to avoid this craziness on front-end with this code in functions.php:
remove_action( 'wp_head', 'wp_print_font_faces', 50 );However, it still loads all those fonts on back-end/admin dashboard.
Anyone else having this issue? It started with 6.4 and the issue remains on 6.4.1. I’m on Business plan. I left my staging site without the fix to show what’s happening: https://staging-02d9-rghedin.wpcomstaging.com

That’s not a bug. Local hosted fonts speed up your site but most important, it makes your site compliant to European privacy laws. You find info at https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-host-local-fonts-in-wordpress-for-a-faster-website/

I agree. The problem is: my site and template don’t have any use or font loaded by themselves, let alone +600 of them.
My problem is why, all of sudden, WordPress started loading +600 custom fonts in an inline style with
wp-fonts-localclass. I want zero custom fonts loading, as it was until two days ago and is supposed to be. -
WordPress loads those fonts locally to be compliant to European privacy laws. You wouldn’t be the first to have to pay a fine. You find some more info at https://www.cookieyes.com/documentation/features/google-fonts-and-gdpr/

You’re misunderstanding me. There is no reason to load +600 on front-end or dashboard when none of them is being used. That’s my case.
