Hung up at the start, need Happiness Engineer help

Hi, WP community, I’m an experienced WP user who is now trying to create a site for my tractor business-owner brother, at bwtractor.wordpress.com (not my site or this login). I created his account yesterday. He never received a confirmation email. After two re-send attempts, we changed the email address to his personal email, and he received the confirmation email and confirmed.
Now, almost 24 hours later, the email change is still pending, and the site doesn’t allow me to publish anything.
We need help getting out of this frustrating loop. I want him to see how fantastic WordPress is as a new user, rather than the experience he’s currently having, during the window of time I have to be of help to him. I should have just created the site using my email address and changed it later, but it’s too late for that now. Thanks very much for your advice and/or help.

usually it is better to post only once then not posting again – threads with only one post can be sorted as having no replies will show up in that area – your posting three times in the same thread makes it look like someone has helped you already

Thanks for that info. I’ve lost two full days and nights to this problem, which is very different from my usual experience with WordPress. I’ll appreciate the help as soon as possible.

usually help here is fairly quick – but sometimes things fall through the cracks – – also some people will show up and think that bumping their thread every hour will get them faster service – that is a fallacy and many time people helping in the forum will ignore the bumped threads or tell the person to wait in line

We can manually confirm user accounts, but it requires e-mail confirmation from the address on record. We also need the request to come from the account in question.
If you or your brother confirm your request here from the new account, I’ll send an e-mail to the address we have on file for the new account and get his account confirmed as soon as we can.

He never received a confirmation email from the original gmail address with which we created his account, so he changed it to a yahoo address that still shows as pending. He has received two emails since, to his yahoo address, and has confirmed each. The hangup seems to be that the system still says the email change is pending. Which email address do you mean when you say the one on file? Thanks.

The first step is that you or he needs to log into the new account you created for him and make the request from that account on this thread. I can’t make account changes without confirmation from that account.
