Hw do I close down a blog that somebody else wrote for us?

    Hi WordPress community,

    ***** created a logsite *****.wordpress.com for the ***** (DVA). We were delighted with the site, but he left the committee a couple of years ago, and did not leave us with the ablity to update or manage the site. ***** does not own the IP/Trademark for the association, and does not have our permission to host our site, he will not return our calls or close down the site. The site is out of date, and has contact details for officers no longer associated with the committee.

    I contacted happiness consultant Rachel about 12 months ago, she advised that WordPress.com could close the *****.wordpress.com site down for us, but could not organise for the blog to be signed over to us.

    I have subsequently created a blog site *****.wordpress.com, which contains the uptodate info.

    Can you please organise for *****.wordpress.com to be shut down.

    I’m afraid that Rachel was right in saying that we can’t close down the blog without providing adequate proof of ownership. You may try filling out our Assisted Account Recovery form wherein a Happiness Engineer can assist you in gaining access to the blog in question:

    Hi Druesome, thansk for your help, but this is not a matter of recovery.

    Rachel advised that we cannot gain access to blog in question because it is was set up to the creators personal account rather than being set up as a separate account for the association as it should have been. Her advice was that wordpress would assist us in inactivating the site if the IP/Trademark did not belong to the developer.

    The IP and trademark in this site belong to the *****, not the developer. What evidence do you need to prove this so we can have the site closed down/inactivated.
