When I put a link into a paragraph it just adds the entire address rather than the title
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You first put text in to highlight, then you select that text, then you click the link icon to put the link in.

I did that but it shows the address instead of the title. You can look at it at cindypurvis60.wordpress.com
I am sure it is something simple, I am used to just copying & pasting. -
You do not appear to have selected any text at all; you put the link in directly. If you selected any text it was the link itself.
Put a link in like this: http://en.support.wordpress.com/links/

Oh No Now it is worse than ever. I have spent hrs & hrs & hrs. Come on why is this so very difficult?

Thank you so much. I have finally given birth…I mean figured it out. Just needed to learn a new language. Wish our community offered classes in these types of things. Will try to stay calmer as I work on making the site more attractive.

And I teach classes both online and in person about how to use WordPress.com, but I don’t have any scheduled for the next couple of months.
