hyperlink a MS Word document from my computer to my wordpress web site

  How do I hyperlink a MS word document which is prepared in the parish office then sent to me from my computer to my wordpress web site please? The document is stored in my ‘Documents folder’ (I am using windows 7 Home Premium with Outlook 2010. It says I should save my docs in the OPML format but when I tried to save the word doc in this format, it is not available in the drop down menu.
  Can anyone help and if so, please do it in plain English as I am not a computer buff.

  Your computer is not a server.

  Note .doc, .docx (Microsoft Word Document) is an accepted file type for uploading. Please see http://en.support.wordpress.com/accepted-filetypes/ and http://en.support.wordpress.com/uploading-documents/

  If you want to embed the document itself into a post or a page, you will have to use a third party application like Scribd or Google Docs. Otherwise, the documents will appear as a download link.

  timethief, thank you for your response. I have not tried it yet but will give it a go. Can I assume I do not have to insert an HTML code anywhere and it is all done once I click on Embed please? I am not a computer buff and am struggling with WP but don’t want to give in.
