Hyperlink being transformed by WordPress / dead link
-
Hi all,
I have noticed that some of my hyperlinks inserted in my post, which initially worked perfectly (I checked), were automatically transformed by wordpress some days later by adding a “%20” at the end of the URL. With this, the link ends up dead for the reader who clicks on it and that’s a bummer.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Does anyone know why this is occuring and how to prevent it?Thanks a lot for your help in advance!

Hey there,
The ” %20 ” is actually a space character (empty space) which has been URL-encoded.
If you’ve entered these links manually, I strongly suggest checking each and one of them to make sure they have no trailing “spaces” at the end – that should fix it.

Ah that makes total sense Scarstocea! I believe I may have selected a space after some of my links before adding the URL without noticing really. I will see if that’s the problem next time I create hyperlinks.
Thanks for the tip!
