Hyperlink Help
-
Hi guys, I’ve had a blog here at WordPress.com for three or four days now and I’m picking up on this HTML stuff. My blog is biggreenmachine.wordpress.com. I’m trying to make a Text widget in my right sidebar that goes under my Blogroll. This is the code that I’m using right now to make this Text widget:
< a href=”www.celticsblog.com”>Celtics Blog< /a >
< a href=”www.bostonceltics.com”>Celtics’ Homepage< /a >
< a href=”www.newenglandpatriots.com”>Patriots’ Homepage< /a >
< a href=”www.patriotsblog.net”>Patriots Blog< /a >
< a href=”redsarmy.wordpress.com”>Red’s Army< /a >
< a href=”www.weei.com”>WEEI< /a >
I obviously put them in without the unnecessary spaces between the <>s. Now the the hyperlinks show up in my sidebars, but when I click on them, it tries to bring up the page within my blog and comes up with “Error 404: Not Found”. Any help would be appreciated.

I’d strongly recommend you to not list your links like that. Do it like this instead:

Celtics Blog

Celtics' Homepage

Patriots' Homepage

Patriots Blog

Red's Army

WEEI

Keep in mind that because you can type the URL without the http:// part in your address bar (which personally I think is a bad habit), like raincoster said, you have to type the full URL when creating a link.
