Hyperlink question
-
When I used another CMS (Weebly) I was able to link to a document in my computer. This was good in 2 senses — I could keep my formatting and I didn’t have to create the doc twice (once in the computer and once in the website). I’m not seeing this as an option in WordPress. Is this correct or am I missing something?

See here for accepted file types http://en.support.wordpress.com/accepted-filetypes/ The following processes are outlined particularly for users who wish to upload a document and add its download link to a blog post or page. http://en.support.wordpress.com/uploading-documents/
Embedding documents
If you want to embed the document itself into a post, then you will have to use a third party application like Scribd or Google Docs.

Awesome!!! I figured it was possible! Thanks so much. As I’m learning, I’m finding that I don’t have the correct terminology for finding what I’m searching for. Thank you so much for your answers!!!
