hyperlinking error

    I’m hyperlinking words within my post, but the links aren’t showing up in the post when it goes live anymore. They have been showing up fine up until a few weeks ago and I have changed anything. Any advice?

    Sorry that your links aren’t behaving as you want!

    Could you link me to a post where this hyperlink issue appears? Tell me which words *should* be linked, and I’ll look into why it’s not working as expected.

    Hi Lisa!

    I see that they have the code for bold type, but no hyperlink is connected to them.

    Try this for me and let me know how it goes:

    1. Open up your post in the editor, by clicking the link below:
      https://alifeinoxfords.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=799&action=edit
    2. There will be a Visual and a Text tab directly above your content box. Make sure that you have the Visual tab open.
    3. Scroll down until you see Matcha Ninja and then highlight the phrase.
    4. Above the content box, you’ll see a little button with the image of a chain link. Click that Insert/Edit Link button.
    5. In the box that opens, add the entire URL for your link. You must include http:// or the link will not work. That tends to be the most common reason for errors with these links. Click Add Link once you’re done.
    6. Then, save your post by clicking update.
    7. Return to your “live” website and take a look at your new post. Does the link work? If so, repeat the process with the other link.

    If it doesn’t work, let me know…also let me know which two URLS you want Matcha Ninja and Whole Life Expo to link.

    Thank you, but this doesn’t work. It is exactly what I have been doing for months and has been working fine. All of a sudden it doesn’t work and no links appear anymore.

    You’ll notice all my posts starting Dec. 12 no longer have active links, but the ones posted prior do, and they were all done the same way – strange!

    Matcha Ninja is supposed to link to: http://www.matchaninja.com/
    and Whole Life Expo to: http://www.wholelifecanada.com/

    Any other advice would be helpful.

    Hey Lisa!

    I took the link you provided for Matcha Ninja, and was able to add it without trouble following the instructions I sent. You should be able to see the live link on your post now. Please do let me know if that link works for you.

    Since it seems as if your editor is working fine, and the link button is also working, let’s look into other issues which could interfere with your creation of links.

    First, I’ll have you clear your cookies and cache in Firefox using the instructions below:

    Refresh your site in your browser, and then give it another try. If that test doesn’t work for you, move to the next step…

    Please log into your account via Google Chrome and try the same action. Let me know if that changes your results.
