Hyperlinking Header Images

  Hi there,

  I’m trying to hyperlink the main header image and image next to each blog post to route to the main website. Could someone help me out with finding where this option is?

  Hi Zoe,

  Making a header image clickable is possible with CSS via the Custom Design feature that is included in the WordPress.com Premium and Business Plans.

  If you decide to purchase a plan, you can visit the CSS Customization section of our forums to get assistance on creating a CSS snippet that would allow hyperlinking the header for your particular theme.

  Hi there,

  Thanks for your quick response. So if we purchased the Premium plan, would we be able to add a home button on the page as well? Are there any limitations on what we’d be able to add, or how we could modify the page layout?

  You do not need CSS to add a home button onto the site.

  The site supports custom menus:

  Menus

  You can go to your My Sites, and click on Menus to create your first custom menu. Read the step by step instructions in the link above to set up your home menu button.

  I’m sorry to keep bugging you, but I meant a button titled ‘Home’ that would route to the home page of our company website. Is there a way to add that under the main header image as a button and have it link outside of WordPress without switching to the upgraded plan?

  Yes, you can add a link menu item to your custom menu that can point to your home page of your company website. Our support page breaks down the directions on how to set that up:

  Hooray for not bugging! I got the menu up, but is there any way to change the color of it and fonts? I want it to stand out a bit more.

  I sure have! It only lets me change the overall text and header font and not pick and choose. I’m happy with how the blog posts look, but want to change just the menu bar’s font.

  Ah yes.

  For customizing custom menu fonts, you’ll need to use the CSS feature as well.
