  Hi

  Is it possible to use links within the same document, eg using a headline to link to another part of the text?

  There are several ways we can split content in posts and pages in WordPress.com blogs. It sounds like creating page jump (anchor) links is what you want. See here > Links to specific points on a page

  You have to copypaste the code models and modify them.
