hypertext links

  I’m quite sorry to bother whoever might be out there to answer this, but I have been all over the dashboard, followed all the instructions, and I can’t figure out why my early posts showed hypertext links automatically, in fact there was a “links” window at the bottom of the edit page that has disappeared. the “links widget” function does not seem to actually set up a hypertext link, neither does the visual/html do anything except underline the word. HELP

  You can add links in your post following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/links/

  Is that what you’re referring to?

  mac, thanks, been there, done that. did you actually read my question? what is the links window that was in the bottom of the edit page? why do some posts automatically show hypertext links, and some don’t? am I missing something?

  There is no “links window that was in the bottom of the edit page” that I can find, and I can’t recall there ever being such a thing.

  What do you mean by “automatically show hypertext links”?
