Hello!
For clarification, are you using wordpress.org or an upgraded wordpress.com site?

The blog I need help with is not rfdstock, but coffeeleague.wordpress.com. I have a wordpress.com site, but it’s not yet upgraded. I’m 84 and need bit-time help creating this site. I bought a workpress template from themeforest. The URL I intend to use was purchased through my host, and there it sits — active but empty (www.coffee-league.com) Don’t want a wordpress.org site at that host. I want a wordpress.com site. Need step by step help. Thanks for your kind attention.

Unfortunately, a third-party theme, such as ThemeForest, is only usable on a self-hosted site such as WordPress.org, and not on WordPress.com.
Uploading a third-party or custom theme is possible only on self-hosted sites using the WordPress.org software. This means that you cannot upload any themes to your WordPress.com site. Learn more.
Instead of uploading a theme, try checking out the current theme collection to see if there’s an option there that will work well for you.

Thank you for your wonderful help. The template I wish to use is very detailed and specialized. I find nothing quite like it in the current theme selection. Looks like I’m going to have to go .org. Now I get to figure out how that’s done. I’m so glad I’m only 84 and can invest a few years learning this new twist. Thanks again — Sincerely.

I have nothing but the utmost respect for you, and I know you can do this!
Here are some links that will get you started:
What’s the difference? (And some helpful guidance): https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
Since WordPress.com is a separate entity, you’ll need to visit the WordPress.org support forums for help on that platform: https://wordpress.org/support/
In short, you’ll need to download the software at WordPress.org, and you’ll need to buy hosting. If you get a good host, many times they’ll help walk you through it. Here are two that WordPress.com recommends: https://get.wp.com/hosting/
Whichever direction you choose to go, I know you’ll do a great job. You can do this!
