I accidentally deleted my domain name
-
My domain name expired and I went into WordPress to renew it but they wanted to charge me an $80 fee. I thought, instead of paying that, I will find the domain name under another site. When it wasn’t available, I thought it was because I needed to delete it from my WordPress account. I did that. It is still not available. Is there anyway for me to get it back if I just deleted it today?

When your domain
umbrellainabrainstorm.comexpired, it entered what is known as a “redemption period.”https://wordpress.com/support/domains/domain-expiration/#redemption-period
The $80 fee is not set by WordPress.com and cannot be waived.
We can still try to recover the domain but you will need to pay an $80 redemption fee in addition to the regular $18 domain renewal cost. If you agree, I can send a payment request and contact our domain registrar once it has been paid.
Otherwise, you need to wait for the redemption period to expire. We have no way to know what date that will occur nor will we be notified when it does. Also, when the domain is returned to the pool of available domain names it then becomes available to be registered again on a first-come, first-served basis. It is common for back-order companies to wait for domains to be released and purchase them the moment they become available. There may also be another individual who likes the domain waiting to buy it.
This means that even if your domain is released, another party can purchase it before you get the chance. Therefore if you want to make sure you don’t lose control of the domain, you would need to pay the redemption fee in addition to the registration fee. Otherwise, you’ll need to keep checking to see when it’s available for registration again.
I hope that clarifies things.
