I activated a theme and lost all my content

    Hello and thanks for your time.
    I have my site showing on my dashboard with updated blog posts and all pages. I found a theme I could use (free), activated and all my pages and posts disappeared.
    Do I have to export my site and upload it to the theme? I thought it happened automatically. Any ideas or suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks again.
