I added a new page, can I combine two of my other pages to make room on the head
-
I added a new page about The Flame of Ishtar and would like to know if I could combine the About Magical Delights.com page and Handcrafted Jewelry by Magical Delights page? They are very similar and there does not seem to be enough room on the header for both. Actually the tab name Home is redundant and is not really a separate page. Could I remove the Home button? Do you have a suggestion for me? I was just learning when I set this up and now I do not know how to change it to what I really want.
I did research to see if there was another discussion about this and did not see one. I look forward to your suggestions. Thank you for your help.

The page “Handcrafted Jewelry” has no content, so you can simply delete it and maybe change the title of the other page. If you don’t want to lose the comments, you can go to Comments (dashboard sidebar), copy the comments and the commenters’ data, log out, submit the comments yourself as a visitor, then go to Comments again and edit the new comments to restore the original commenters’ data.
The Home tab is a link to your blog front. It seems redundant when you are on your blog front, but it’s very useful when one wants to return to your main page after visiting a single post or any other page.

Wow, I see your point about home…it is nice to know how to get back home:) I will work on the ideas. They sound great! I would never have figured it out with out your help. Thanks a million!

Oh, but now that I submitted it, I do have another question. I guess that I named the other page Handcrafted Jewelry by Magical Delights for SEO purposes, however, the other one that is named about MagicalDelights.com seems useful to get people to the website. You can get to the blog from the website, but not necessarily get to the website from the blog. How would you suggest that I handle that. Is the SEO attemp worth it. Or should I just go with talking about the website?

Oh, ya, and how do you go about changing the name of the page. I guess that was really my original question, even if I wasn’t clear. I guess that I did not even mention that I wanted to change the name of the page, but that was how I originally started in the help section and hit a dead end.
Thanks!

Click Pages (dashboard sidebar), hover under page title, click Quick Edit, edit title, click Update.

I followed your directions as best that I could, but now I have a page changed to the same name as the other one and one of them goes no where. I apologize, but I am not certain what I might have done wrong. I changed the name and the moved the one with only two comments and no content to the trash but it still shows up on the top of the page.

@magicaldelights: If you trashed the page but its tab is still there on your top nav menu, then you aren’t using the standard menu of the theme, you’re using the new custom menu feature. Go to Appearance > Menus, click the arrow on the label of the trashed page, click Remove, click Save Menu.
