I added widgets (archives, calendar) and they're not showing up

  I added widgets and they are not showing up on the Home page. Any idea what’s wrong?

  First, be sure to read the detailed theme description page because not all themes are deigned to display widgets on every page in the blog.

  Second, note that widgets have “visibility” settings so we can select which pages they display on. See here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/#widget-visibility

  timethief, thanks. I’m a very quick learner and always have been, but WordPress is not easy to learn – not because it’s difficult, but because the directions are not clearly written in simple and easy-to-follow sequential steps.
