I already own a domain name

  I have already paid for a domain name (one-time payment), why do I have to pay for the domain name again? can’t I use my own domain name here on wordpress?

  I have a host, can’t I use that? or do i need to change the host?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  There are two ways to use a domain you already own here at WordPress.com:

  Mapping allows you to keep the domain registered with your current domain registrar and direct it to your WordPress.com site: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/

  A transfer would allow to manage both your site and domain from the same place: https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/

  Both will require any paid plan to make them the site’s primary address https://wordpress.com/support/domains/#set-a-primary-address and all paid plans include a free domain registration, transfer, or mapping: https://wordpress.com/pricing/

  If you’d like to keep your current hosting provider, use https://wordpress.org/ instead.

  To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/
