I am a beginner. What information do I need to creat a home page and a blog.

Can you provide help for a senior citizen who wants to learn to make a page. I built one in 1995 with Word Perfect, but I lost it when I changed ISP’s in 2007 and need a few reminders to get started again. I haven’t had one in 8 years and have gotten a little “rusty”. Please offer me some advice to get started.

If you’re just starting out with WordPress.com, I recommend you go through our new user’s guide:
You’ll learn about all the best and most useful features of WordPress.com, with lots of screenshots and videos.
In particular, you’ll want to use Step #12, Get a Homepage, here:

If you’ve got some experience in building websites in the past, you could probably just jump into there. That page explains how to setup a static front page, and then selecting a Blog page for all the posts you write in the future to automatically update.
You can also browse our support documentation (http://support.wordpress.com) and check out the forums (http://forums.wordpress.com) for other useful WordPress information.
