    Suppose I upgrade my site to a paid plan, then, will I receive money if someone visits my site?

    WordAds is the official WordPress.com advertising program available for site owners:

    Generally, you’re paid per impression (when the ad is seen by a visitor), not by click.

    Upgrading to the Premium plan gives you automatic access to the WordAds program, which means you can set up advertising straight away.

    Hi there,
    That is not how it works, upgrading to paid a WordPress.com plan will only give you access to the respective premium features inside each plan. (WordAds being one of the premium features available with Premium and Business plans, using which you can make money).

    There are 3 paid plans: Personal, Premium and Business.

    Now if you want to make money through your site you can monetize it by using WordAds(Ad Network for WordPress.com) which will place Ads on your website and thereby enabling you to earn money based on its impressions.

    You have to get either Premium or Business plan to be able to monetize your site using WordAds.

    Hi otpidusprime,

    You have to get either Premium or Business plan to be able to monetize your site using WordAds.

    It is also possible to monetize your site using the Personal plan. One of the eligibility criteria is a custom domain — which can be registered using this plan.

    Once a site meets all of the eligibility criteria, you can apply for WordAds. Although with the Personal plan, you don’t have automatic access to the WordAds program (included in Premium and Business plans).
