I am an author and wish to put HTML code for my book on Amazon.com

  I can’t find a detailed description of how to ad the HTML code for my book that is published on Amazon. I will be authoring more books and that is what my WordPress blog is all about.

  There are several types of embed code that we don’t allow on WordPress.com for security reasons, such as iframes and script. You can read more about the code we do and don’t allow here:

  I don’t want to put HTML code on Amazon.com I want to put a banner or widget or whatever it’s called for my book, The Paladin, that is on Amazon on my WordPress blog jamesdaterryauthor,com blog.   I’ve tried it several times after and between < > and instead of and every time I can see all of the code on my blog NOT the ad for my book.

  Yep, that code is what’s called an iframe. You can tell because after the initial < it says “iframe”. This means that we strip this type of embed.

  It looks like this is some sort of ad, from the URL. We don’t allow outside advertisements on WordPress.com sites, but we do have our own advertising program called WordAds:

  Hi Shawna,
  Thanks for your replies to my WordPress ad question. The blog I’ve created with WordPress was specifically for promoting my books but if I can’t do that then I guess WordPress isn’t for me.

  So, you are allowed to advertise your own products if you’re also creating original content that is not advertising. The Amazon embed code still won’t work, but you can create affiliate links to use instead.

  It may just be that WordPress.com isn’t for you. :( You may be interested in a self hosted WordPress instead. You can read about the differences here:
