  I wanted the blog name cosmicsmith.com , not cosmicsmithdotcom. I paid $26.00 to upgrade. I clearly have no idea what I am doing. I have wanted to start this blog for years and I can see why it has taken me this long. Please help me.

  Hi Rhonda,

  Not to worry! You got comicsmith.com! Our system just works in such a way that domains are upgrades that get attached to blogs. When you buy the domain, we also have to create a blog name for you too, and to make sure the blog name doesn’t interfere with anything, our system assigns the domain name plus “dotcom” (if you had bought a .org it would have been “dotorg”).

  Not to worry though, the only person who will ever see cosmicsmithdotcom.wordpress.com is you, and even then only when writing blog posts or customizing your site. With that said, if you really can’t stand it you can change your address using this help article:
