I am in a similar predicament
I tried to fill in the account recovery form to ask for help from the Happiness Engineers at WordPress Support but without the correct information for Proof of Ownership the form will not be accepted
The account I want to recover was registered in 2010 and I have no records going back that many years
I can’t find any record of the email address which I used when I registered the username dbugproductions
I hope someone can help ???
I don’t have the transaction ID / activation URL or key / two factor authentication codes …
But if you check the link about the author you will see that I posted the same text that I have also posted on many other free sites on the internet

However now that I am investing more time and effort into my profiles on wordpress.com I would like to be able to update the blog associated with this username since dbugproductions is the name of my company and ideally in a perfect world everything else would link back to this name

So long as you know your username/email you will be ok …
If you can’t sign in because you have forgotten the password then you can easily reset the password

i can get into my account. the problem is that there is a ad or something that covers my text and i cannot read my text from my end. it says that i should upgrade and the has what the fees are. there is a button to dismiss but by pressing it it does not go away. i cannot read my text unless i go to the published one from view my site or without logging in… i am trying to find out why this thing is blocking my view of my page. are we now having to pay for our free blogs or having to upgrade our sites? i am not sure and cannot seem to find a way to talk to wordpress. they have sent me here.

You do NOT have to upgrade
I think we can register for free as many usernames as we like
So you could start again with a new account … or just make another blog with the account you are signed into

@roseramirez – I’ve had a look at your website roseramirez.wordpress.com and it is using a theme, Chaotic Soul, that has been retired for several years. I also cannot scroll past the post from August 2009. This may be an issue with the theme itself since retired themes are not updated for anything but security. Have you tried switching to a newer theme?
