i am confused about self hosting blogs

  how do i know if my page is published. It would seem that when I find my blog, it can be edited by anyone?

  You are not self hosting that blog. This is the link to your only post on the free hosted WordPress.com blog linked to your username http://thelisteningpostblog.wordpress.com/2012/09/30/the-beginning/

  The Admin [edit] link appearing on the front of your blog is visible only to you when you are logged in. No one else can see it or use it. It’s for your convenience. Log out, clear your browser cache and cookies and view your site without logging in and you will not see it.
