I am considering switching my WP.org site to a WP.com

I realize that I do not need the self-hosted .org site, and since I have started a new .com blog, I am actually much happier with it. For instance, I cannot embed video like I can on .com, and I get many more “free” views and subscriptions due to the .com network.
What is entailed in switching to the free blog? Will my blog change dramatically without the jetpack options? Is it easy to move subscribers over? What will happen to my account?
I am seriously considering this but am still unsure if I should make the move. I appreciate your input! (I realize most people “travel” the other way!)

Jetpack was invented to emulate some of the features of WordPress.com, so there won’t be any problem there. The big differences are: You can’t have paid ads, do paid content of any kind, use javascript, raw flash, or iframes, or use ecommerce software.

I understand that and that is no problem. I am a beginning blogger and am unsure how to use most of those items anyway. I am not sure of the switch yet but am leaning toward it.

May I ask how often people switch to .org to .com? I would imagine if people no longer wanted to pay for their site but did not want to delete it, they would opt for the free blog?

I have no idea how many people switch. It’s pretty painless if you’re not a coder or gamer or ad-crazed ecommerce person.

Haha good to know! (I’m just a blogger.) :)

    Thank you kindly!!
