I am getting an error whenever I try to create a new blog post…

    The system gives me the following message:

    Oops! An error occurred while loading.
    Please refresh the page and try again.

    When I hit the create a new post button. The tags are not shown but a blank slider. I can type in a post. When I try to publish the publish button stays greyed out. I left it in that state for 8 hours to make sure there was not some short term glitch. I have tried it a couple of other times to no success.

    Hi there. Are you using the new Beep Beep Boop editor? Try the classic editor at WP-Admin ->Posts ->Add New and see if that also gives an error.

    This could also be a browser issue. Please make sure you are using one of the browsers listed here and that your browser is updated to the latest version: http://browsehappy.com/

    Additionally, try clearing your browser cache and cookies and make sure you have third-party cookies enabled. You can also check whether you have the same problem on a different browser.

    It might also be a good idea to make sure your flash player is updated:
    http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

    Make sure you have your draft post saved somewhere before you clear the cache, in case the editor didn’t save your draft correctly.

    I have been having the same problem! Thank you for the tips. I tried clearing my cookies and everything but that didn’t work. The old editor works for me though! Thank you!

    Sometimes if one has a poor connection the new editor also fails to load properly. In such a case you can try resetting your modem/router.

    But generally I’d recommend you rather use the classic editor. It’s more stable and has more features than the new one. You can see this link for all the ways to get to the old editor if you prefer using it: https://tpenguinltg.github.io/wpcom-edit-post-redirect.user.js/index.html

    Thanks guys for all the help.

    I went back to the old mode – not the Beep beep boop editor and things worked just fine.

    I had already tried all the browser things recommended, but this error popped up when I clicked the Beep Beep Boop button. I could go through all the way to publish and then the publish button would stay greyed out.

    I use Chrome as my primary browser and tried IE to the same result. I am guessing that there is some internal problem with the Beep Beep Boop. I have had this blog going for 18 months or so and published 3x a week since that time. One try with the classic and all was good.

    I am guessing that there is some internal problem with the Beep Beep Boop.

    That editor has been glitchy ever since they introduced it over two years ago. But I’m glad to hear the classic is working. See my link above for various workarounds to use the classic editor instead of the new.
